Dennis Gomer is a Networking and Data Cabling System Consultant working in Benton, Kentucky.  His areas of expertise include: Multi-Vendor Interoperability, Wide-Area Networking, Local Area Networking, Voice, Data, and Video Cabling, host hardware and operating systems, workstation hardware and operating systems, and multi-media hardware, software, and applications.  Dennis started CC & ND in July of 1992.

Dennis was formerly an employee of IBM for 13 years.  He was a Systems Engineer for 6 years.  His previous assignments include:

Dennis has been a Project Leader for a number of projects in both the Vermont IBM manufacturing plant and the Evansville IBM branch office.  Some of the projects include:

  • Project leader for the manufacturing of the 1 megabit memory chip

  • Project leader for the manufacture of the 4 megabit memory chip

  • Project leader for the accurate measurement of semiconductor sub-micron technology

  • Project leader of the Network Solutions Team, a team of 9 individuals that specialize in all aspects of networking

Dennis has worked with a variety of customers in the Evansville, Indiana area, and has worked with many industries, such as Banking & Finance, Health, manufacturing, Transportation, Distribution, Retail, Higher and K-12 Education.  Dennis has primarily focused his work for the last eight years in the area of K-12 Networking.

Dennis received an Associate Degree form ITT Technical Institute, and has attended Murray State University and the University of Vermont.  Dennis has over 200 hours of college credit from a variety of discipline areas, primarily Electrical Engineering and Business Management.

Dennis also has attended over 1200 hours of technical education in the areas of Local Area Networks, Wide-Area networking including VTAM and NCP configurations.  TCP/IP for IBM and non-IBM systems, and other telecommunications topics.  Dennis has also participated in internships in the Raleigh Connectivity Lab and in the Washington Education Center.

Dennis is a qualified instructor for Token-Ring Networking.

Dennis has completed over 1500 network designs for customers in this area and around the country, has participated in the installation of over 600 networks of varying shapes, sizes, and topologies , and has personally installed more than 100 networks, including the networks at both the original IBM Evansville branch office and the new IBM Evansville branch office.  Dennis has also designed networks for more than 400 schools in the State of Kentucky alone, as well as several schools in Indiana, Illinois, Tennessee, and Ohio.

Dennis has assisted several school districts in getting federal Universal Service Fund awards, and to date has helped these districts receive more than 22 million dollars in funding approvals.  School district names are available upon request.  Dennis is very familiar with federal grant programs and their requirements, and has assisted many school districts in applying for grants of various types.

Dennis has reviewed many grant proposals in his IBM experience and CC & ND, Inc. experience.

Dennis is also an active member of Building Industry Consulting Service International (BISCI).
